Will you photograph my dog?

If I had to choose between photographing YOU or your DOG, I’m picking your dog ALL day.

Do you help with posing? I’m not very good at posing myself.

Of course! I have no problem posing you to get some great images. I also drag my wife along on most of my shoots, and she’s really great at posing too. Together, we’ll make sure we photograph you in some great poses!

Do you book videography work?

What kind of camera equipment do you use?

I shoot with a Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless digital camera. I use various professional grade lenses, but more often than not I’m shooting with either a 50mm f/1.2, 70-200mm f/2.8, or an 85mm f/1.4.

Editing Process

Can you photoshop my pictures to make me look 20lbs lighter?

I get this question often, and I get it. We’re never happy with how we look. But, the reality is, you’re beautiful. Confidence and happiness speaks volumes in pictures and I promise you don’t need any extreme Photoshop work. Just smile with authenticity and your pictures will be amazing.

No seriously, can you do a little photoshop work?

Short answer, yes. I always provide a degree of post production photo retouching. This usually covers skin imperfections, some light wrinkle reduction and skin smoothing. Depending upon the request, I may even tighten up a love handle or two. However, please don’t ask me to make you look completely different or photoshop you onto the moon. I prefer my photos to be authentic and as true to form as possible. But if you INSIST, then we can discuss, and depending upon the request, additional fees may apply.

Do you touch-up all of my photos?

I only touch-up photos that have been chosen by you (the client) as part of your photo package selections. I do not touch-up proofs or photos not included in your final photo selections.

How long will it take to get my photos?

This entirely depends upon the photo package or session type we’ve agreed upon. Typically, I can provide proofs within 2 weeks, and then final edits 2 weeks after you’ve chosen your final images. These timeframes are typical, but not guaranteed. I will discuss turn around times prior to our session.

What if I need my pictures ASAP?

Typically, I require a minimum of ONE (1) calendar month, from the day we shoot, to deliver final images. If you need images sooner, a rush fee may apply and will be discussed prior to accepting a deposit and securing a session date.

Do you provide prints of my photos?

Typically, I only provide high resolution digital files for download. However, upon request, I can help you print your photos. Let me know what photos you’d like to have printed and I can provide you with pricing. At very least, I’ll provide you with a recommendation to a great photo printing service.

I can handle my own printing, however, can you help me resize my images?

Of course! I can resize photos for your printing needs. No charge.

How many images do I get?

This depends upon the photo package you’ve chosen. Each photo package comes with a particular number of high resolution professionally retouched images. We will discuss your package details prior to your session so that you are clear about expected deliverables.

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No, I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. I spend hours going through each image to ensure that I provide you the absolute best images from our sessions.

How do I download my images?

I provide each client with a unique Google Drive link to download images. This link will contain the final edits from your session.

What rights do I have to the digital prints?

Upon paying for your session in full, you have the right to reprint images whenever you want, share images on social media or with friends and family. However, you may not sell your images for profit or professionally publish your images without written consent from Thomas Moralez Photography. If you choose to alter the appearance of an image and it is no longer exactly as I provided, then I prohibit you from associating the altered image with my name professionally. Each image that I deliver has been edited and refined to reflect my style as a photographer and represents a body of work that I have spent years perfecting. I would greatly appreciate it if you would respect the time and effort spent on each image that I deliver.

Do you provide RAW files?

No, I do not provide RAW (unprocessed) files from our shoots because I believe in delivering a finished product. Each of my packages come with full resolution images (typically jpeg format) for download. Other formats are available upon request.

Reservations, Rescheduling and Cancellations

How do I reserve you for my date?

I require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of your total photo package to secure your date. Certain exceptions may apply and are at the discretion of the photographer.

What happens if you get sick or injured and can’t photograph me?

Hopefully this never happens. But, if I suddenly become sick or injured and am unable to meet for your scheduled session, then we will transfer your deposit to the next available date that works for both of us. If we’re unable to find a date that works for both of us, you reserve the right to cancel and receive a full refund of your deposit.

What happens if I (the client) need to reschedule or cancel?

Portrait Sessions: If you (the client) needs to reschedule a portrait session, no problem. You can reschedule portrait sessions, with no fee, up to ONE (1) calendar week before your scheduled session. If rescheduling within ONE (1) calendar week of your scheduled session, then a 15% (of photo package total) rescheduling fee will apply, and will be collected before confirming your rescheduled date. You can cancel a portrait session at any time. Deposits are non-refundable. Certain exceptions may apply and are at the discretion of the photographer.

Special Occasions: Large events require a greater deal of planning and coordination, often requiring a full day to be reserved for your special event. As a result, deposits for Special Occasions are non refundable. Once I’ve reserved your date, I do not accept new clients for your date. If forced to reschedule, a new deposit is required for the new date. Certain exceptions may apply and are at the discretion of the photographer.

What happens if the weather isn’t great?

I am always ready to endure the elements of weather. However, if the weather prevents us from achieving your vision, then we can reschedule your session at no extra charge. The weather is out of our control, so neither of us should be held liable.

Do you do destination weddings?

Absolutely! I love traveling for weddings or any type of photo session that gets me out of town. Traveling fees apply, which cover the cost of traveling and reasonable accommodations, should I need to stay the night. Tell me about your awesome location and we can discuss the details.

How come you don’t have pricing for weddings on your website?

I really prefer to understand the needs of a potential client before stating a price. Each wedding is unique and can demand varying degrees of effort to bring the vision to life. Though I do have starting points for pricing, each wedding can greatly differ in cost depending upon the needs of the day. Send me a message and I’ll gladly discuss your vision and give you a competitive price.

Photo Packages

My photo package comes with 12 images, does that mean you’re only taking 12 pictures during our session?

Each photo package comes with a particular number of high resolution professionally retouched images. That number reflects the amount of final edits that you will receive for download. However, this does not mean that I will only shoot 12 photos (or however many images your package states) during our session. During our session, we will shoot a ton of photos in various poses and possibly different locations. After our session, I will filter those images to discard duplicates, missed focuses, funky faces or any other type of unflattering images to provide you with a quality group of images known as proofs. From these proofs, you will choose a predetermined number of photos for me to edit. These are the final edited images that you are ultimately paying for. These are the images listed in the photo packages.

What if I want more images than what’s included in my photo package?

You always have the option to purchase more images than what’s included in your photo package. Additional images can be purchased at $20/per edited image. Oftentimes it’s better to upgrade your photo package to get a lower per image rate. I will always work with you to get the best price.

Photo Recovery

What if I lose my images?

I caution every customer to take great care in saving the images I provide. As a precautionary measure, I store ONLY the final edits from your session for up to SIX (6) months from the date that I deliver your final edits. At which time, I make no promises or claims to continue storing your images or that I can provide copies of your final edits. With that being said, if by chance, I have chosen images from your session to be part of my personal portfolio, I may have copies. It never hurts to ask. I store proofs for only THREE (3) months.

Do you backup my images?

I store final edits from your session up to SIX (6) months from the day I deliver final edits. I store proofs for THREE (3) months. After which time, I make no promises of storing or being able to provide copies of images. I highly recommend you save your images in a safe place!

How do I pay for my photo session?

I prefer payments via Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, CashApp, Zelle, or good o’l fashioned cash. I have the means to accept credit card payments, however a 3% convenience fee is applied to the total amount of each transaction charged.

Is there an additional fee if I pay by credit card?

Yes. The fee for credit card transactions is 3% of the total amount charged. If you’d like to avoid fees, I’d suggest paying for your session via Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, CashApp, Zelle, or good o’l fashioned cash.
